माता पार्वतीको विवाह

पौराणिक कथा अनुसार माता पार्वतीले आफ्नो पूर्वजन्ममा भगवान् शंकरलाई पतिको रूपमा प्राप्त गर्न बाल्यकालमा हिमालयको गङ्गाको किनारमा कठोर तपस्या गरेकी थिइन् । माता पार्वतीको यो अवस्था देखेर बुबा निकै दुखी हुनुभयो ।

यसैबिच एक दिन महर्षि नारद भगवान् विष्णुको तर्फबाट पार्वतीजीको विवाहको प्रस्ताव लिएर माता पार्वतीका पिताकहाँ पुगे, जसलाई उनले सहर्ष स्वीकार गरे । जब बुवाले छोरी पार्वतीलाई आफ्नो विवाहको बारेमा बताउनुभयो, उनी धेरै दुःखी भए र ठुलो स्वरले विलाप गर्न थालिन्।

त्यसपछि एक साथीले सोधेपछि आमाले भगवान् शिवलाई पतिको रूपमा प्राप्त गर्न यो कठोर व्रत बसेको बताइन्, जबकि उनका पिताले श्री विष्णुसँग विवाह गराउन चाहन्छन् । त्यसपछि साथीको सल्लाहमा माता पार्वती घना जङ्गलमा गइन् र त्यहाँ एउटा गुफामा गएर भगवान् शिवको आराधनामा मग्न भइन् । 

भाद्र पद शुक्ल तृतीया तिथिको हस्त नक्षत्रमा माता पार्वतीले बालुवाबाट शिव-लिङ्ग बनाएर भोलेनाथको जयजयकार गरी रातभर जाग्राम बसिन् । तब माताको यो कठोर तपस्याबाट प्रसन्न भई भगवान् शिवले उनलाई दर्शन दिए र उनको इच्छा अनुसार उनलाई पत्नीको रूपमा स्वीकार गरे।

तीजको बिशेषता

हरितालिका तीजको शाब्दिक अर्थ क्रमशः हरात अर्थात् अपहरण, अलिकाको अर्थ महिला मित्र र तीज–तृतीया तिथिबाट लिइएको हो । हरितालिका तीजको पौराणिक कथा अनुसार देवी पार्वतीलाई उनका साथीहरूले अपहरण गरी घना जङ्गलमा लगेका थिए । ताकि पार्वतीजीका बुबाले उनको इच्छा विपरीत भगवान् विष्णुसँग उनको विवाह नगरुन् ।

हरितालिका पूजाका लागि बालुवा, बालुवा र कालो माटोबाट भगवान् शिव, पार्वती र गणेशको मूर्ति बनाइन्छ । यसमा भगवान् शिवलाई धोती-अङ्गोचा चढाइन्छ। यसरी पूजापछि कथा सुन्ने र राती जाग्राम बस्ने, बिहान आरतीपछि माता पार्वतीलाई सिन्दूर चढाउने र हलुवा चढाएर व्रत तोड्ने विधि छ ।

यस दिन आफ्नो इच्छा अनुसार व्रत राख्ने महिलाले आफ्नो इच्छा अनुसार पति प्राप्त गर्ने जनविश्वास रहेको छ । यसका साथै दाम्पत्य जीवनमा सुख शान्ति कायम राख्ने उद्देश्यले पनि यो पर्व मनाइन्छ ।

हरितालिका तीजका दिन अविवाहित युवतीहरूले माता गौरी र भगवान् शंकरको पूजा गरी मनपर्ने पति पाउन व्रत बस्छन् । भाद्र पद शुक्ल पक्षको तृतीयामा पर्ने यो पर्व हस्त नक्षत्रमा हरितालिका व्रत मनाइन्छ । यो सामान्यतया अगस्ट-सेप्टेम्बर महिनामा मात्र आउँछ।

On the first day, Dar Khane Din, the air is filled with the aroma of mouthwatering dishes and spices called dar. As the sunsets, sacred tradition begins-fasting, a beautiful symbol of devotion. Third day, Rishi Panchami
